Our family company, T Alun Jones Ltd, has been involved in haulage, storage, and distribution for over 60 years. Established in 1961, our firm has grown from one lorry to a fleet of 30 lorries. We started off in the Hay & Straw business and have now managed to expand into a range of haulage options.
Haulage and Storage Welshpool,
Alun & Joyce started the business in October of 1961 from their home at the Belan just outside of Welshpool. They soon outgrew the small yard at the back of the property and moved house to Severn Farm based in Welshpool itself in 1980. Ian & Nick, their sons, began driving as soon as they were able to, hauling mainly potatoes up and down the country. In 1992 they bought the yard we are in today on the Henfaes Lane Industrial Estate in Welshpool. Over the years they have expanded the business to 30 lorries and multiple trailers. They have developed the yard and warehouse facilities and we can now store up to 8,000 pallets on site.
Haulage in the UK,
In 2012 the first of the 3rd generation joined the firm, shortly followed by Rhys & Tom. Beth works in the office alongside Ian & Nick, while the grandsons both drive. Rhys is driving a timber lorry locally and Tom on a general haulage lorry traveling up and down the country.
